Port Of Taman Russia Dry Cargo
The Government of the Russian Federation has entrusted the investment analysis and engineering services related to identifying the most suitable location for the following commercial activities on the Taman Peninsula:
- Common areas for logistics activities;
- Container Terminal;
- Grain Terminal;
- Coal Terminal;
- Mineral Fertilizer Terminal; Timber Terminal;
- Cement Terminal;
- Ro-Ro Terminal.
The design activities covered three different options, one for each possible location. Based on the results of wave climate studies and the analysis of geological and geotechnical data, Cape Panagija was found to be the best choice for the development.
The layout of Cape Panagija consists of quays arranged in a U-shape with an entrance facing north. Thanks to this particular arrangement, the main basin is located in the southern area, a choice that allowed for a reduction in the amount of dredging. Furthermore, the shallow waters help minimize the height of waves crashing against the port facilities. The dry bulk terminals, stored in silos and domes, are located on the edge adjacent to the coast, while the Container Terminal is located on the western pier. The Ro-Ro Terminal is located along the western perimeter of the port and offers, in addition to two docking docks, large dry dock areas for loading/unloading vehicles.
Assignment in collaboration with D’Appolonia, Genoa, and Acquatecno, Rome.
