Port Of Civitavecchia Darsena Energetica Grandi Masse
The project initially involved dredging the seabed to allow for proper vessel maneuvering during both access and docking.
The dredging sludge was used, as part of the project, for the construction of the new dock (865 m long), the yard (total area of 370,000 m2), and the container terminal, located on the reclaimed land. A multipurpose terminal (365 m) and a breakwater (845 m) equipped with everything needed to handle dry bulk cargo were also designed.
The liquid bulk terminal was developed on three docks: two for 50,000 DWT vessels and one for 100,000 DWT vessels.
The engineering services also included a study of the interference between the new dock and the cooling systems of the Torrevaldaliga Sud thermoelectric power plant.
