Port Of Trieste Molo VII
The project involved extending the head of Pier VII by 100 meters to make the current 750-meter-long quay accessible to two container ships simultaneously.
The services and interventions included:
- The 100-meter extension of Pier VII, replicating the existing structural model;
- The 300-meter renovation of the existing quay crane runways;
- The installation of new fenders and bollards, appropriately sized to ensure the safe mooring of the project vessel, even in unfavorable wind conditions;
- The redevelopment and reorganization of the yard, including the electrical, lighting, and fire prevention networks;
- The redevelopment of existing systems and the construction of a drainage and rainwater treatment system.
A further extension, up to 800 meters, is envisaged by the Port Master Plan.
The South Quay, in its new configuration, has been equipped with eight 24-row StS quay cranes.
The purpose of the yard redevelopment is to rationalize container storage, in anticipation of increased traffic volume.
This project was developed in BIM: 2D/3D views, elevations, and sections were created. The BIM model was created for each structural element, such as posts, beams, and slabs, and thanks to it, any conflicts with internal systems, such as electrical or fire protection, were identified and resolved.
