Port Of Taranto Seabed Deepening Of The Access Channel To The Molo Polisettoriale

Within the Taranto port area, after the preliminary bathymetric survey was conducted, a detailed bathymetric survey was conducted, along with other stratigraphic analyses of the seabed characteristics.
To allow ships with drafts up to 14.50 m to moor at the Taranto container terminal, it was decided to remove sediment through dredging, reaching a depth of -15.00 m above sea level.
The dredged material was stored in a HDPE-sealed tank to prevent soil and water contamination.
