Port Of Olbia Integrated Safety System In The Port Areas
The aim of the project was to implement the access and security system within the Olbia port areas, in compliance with the requirements of the ISPS Code.
For the three ports of Isola Bianca, Golfo Aranci, and Porto Cocciani, which are well connected to the main roads, new automated check-in systems with related management systems were implemented, structured as follows:
- Centralized check-in at the access gates and ticket offices, including the software and hardware management system.
- License plate detection for cars and motorcycles, including the management system and interfaced with the check-in system to automate the issuing of boarding passes at the access gates.
- Full IP video surveillance of the access gates and boarding areas, including full-frame digital video recording and management system.
- Point-to-point wireless broadband connection and Wi-Fi coverage throughout the port area.
The project therefore ensured:
- A single central station for monitoring signals from the IDS (Intrusion Detection System);
- Surveillance of all access points to the port areas;
- Adequate surveillance measures for the waters in front of the port; and physical barriers to delimit the protected port perimeter.
